Accessories We Love: Taigan

One of the best parts of traveling is shopping, especially if you take advantage of visiting local stores, galleries and boutiques. More often than not you can find gorgeous one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, accessories, and clothing that you won’t find anywhere else (which is super great when searching for your perfect bridal and wedding event related styles). The downfall to these amazing stores? You have to wait until your next visit to said travel destination to take advantage of the shopping goodness. That is…of course…until Taigan!

Taigan is the perfect accessory to any bridal shopping experience, as you can take your own cross-country shopping road trip straight from your living room, via Taigan’s online shop, gallery, and designer showcase web portal. Plus, they have an amazing Gold membership program with fabulous discounts! Don’t wait…get your bridal and wedding related shopping started now, at Taigan. Until then, here are a few of our favorite products:

{From left to right}: 1* Lapelle by Style Paris;  2* Savannah Bee hand cream ; 3* Quill and Hand-beaded earrings 4* Ila&I Pattison ring ; 5* Vestito Liudmilla.

Accessory to a Bridal Crime?

Choosing accessories that overpower your wedding dress is criminal!  So are you an accessory to a crime?  Don’t be caught red handed!

According to the designer of  Veronique Coleccion you should choose an accessory that compliments the dress without overpowering it.  The bridal gown should be center stage while headbands, belts and hair pieces should add subtle finishing touches.  If you are still on the fence about adding an accessory to your dress just remember that adding an accessory is the best way to reflect your personal everyday style without compromising any themes your dress may be following.

Let Veronique Coleccion’s newest pieces inspire your accessory decisions:

The Francesca belt from Veronique’s newest collection added a sparkling finish to this simple and elegant chiffon draped gown.

Don’t need a belt?

Try these simple looks:  a beautiful lace flower hair piece & a stunning crystal headband

Bridal Beauty: The Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick!

Anyone who knows me can attest to my ridiculous obsession with Bobbi Brown‘s Shimmer Bricks. As far as I’m concerned, they should be in every woman’s makeup bag! These little square miracles not only provide the best bronzing combinations, but also allow that perfect dash of color when you’re on the run.

I can’t tell you how many times the BBSB Beige shade (shown above) has come in handy the morning after late-night-cocktails…when all you need to do is get to food, but wouldn’t dare leave the house without being somewhat put together.

For a mere $38 dollars, your face (and sometime chest, shoulders or neck) will feel alive, sparkly and ready to face the day (or night)! Check out the whole fleet and get your very own brick, here.

Bridal Beauty: The Miraculous Avocado

With all the great weather we’ve been having in California, we got to thinking about Avocados, the yummy fruit that re-emerges with a vengeance this time of year. But the Avocado isn’t just delicious to eat, it’s also revered as the most complex and complete food in the world. Not only do avocados contain Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, fiber, folate, and potassium, but they also have been found to help prevent, treat and alleviate such health issues as inflammation, high or low blood pressure, heart disease, and skin infection.

Avocados should become a staple in the months leading up to your wedding, especially in helping to alleviate any vitamin deficiencies from the stress of planning and to prep your hair and skin for the ultimate in shine and glow. The best part? You can make your own treatments at home! Here are a couple of our favorite recipes from around the web:

DIY Avocado Hair Mask: Livestrong.com

  • 1 whole, ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. sea salt or honey
  • 1 egg yolk (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. aloe gel (optional)

Rescue Avocado Hair Mask: :Hairstylecity.com

  • one ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Homemade Avocado Face Mask: Cosmeticsdiary.com

  • 1/4 cup cucumber, peeled & chopped
  • 1/4 cup avocado
  • 3 tbsps. finely powdered oats
  • 3 tbsps. of water
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. honey

Bridal Beauty: Wedding Day Essentials

Your dress and shoes are prepped and ready to go, and your hair and makeup artists are booked. What’s left?! Beauty essentials, of course! Today Modèle is bringing you 5 wedding day beauty essentials- bridal beauty items that we believe are must-haves for any bride on her wedding day.

1*: Gentle Exfoliator { Kate Sommerville ExfoliKate Gentle }

The morning of your wedding is the perfect time for a quick and gentle exfoliation-nothing too harsh, but something to give your face a smooth and shiny look. Perfect to clear away the celebration from last night’s rehearsal dinner libations, a quick exfoliation will make your face feel like brand new! We love the above version from Kate Sommerville, as well as the currently sold-out everywhere, you’re lucky if you still have some, Prescriptives Immediate Smooth {dear Prescriptives, please make more! Please?!}.

Prescriptives 2*: Vitamin Enriched Cream Base { Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base }

Once you’ve exfoliated, a good moisturizing base is the perfect lotion to use in preparation for your makeup application later in the day. Our favorite, Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base, not only smells slightly citrus but also leaves your skin practically glowing!

3*: Mascara { Christian Dior-DiorShow Mascara }

Having a little mascara on hand throughout the day of your wedding is the perfect beauty compliment to make sure your eyes stay bright and bold. If you decide on fake lashes, having mascara on-hand for when you decide to take them off at the after-party, will be key! The DiorShow above is our absolute favorite.

4*: Shimmer { Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc }

You probably already know that we’re a little obsessed with shimmer bricks (see our previous bridal beauty post spotlight on Bobbi Brown’s shimmer bricks). We feel it’s so important in your bridal beauty regiment that we couldn’t leave it off of our list. In addition to our BB fave, we love this Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc. And remember…a little bit of shimmer goes a long way.

5*: Cleansing Wipes { Korres Cleansing Wipes }

Trust us when we say that you will want these cleansing wipes ready and available at the end of your wedding day! Tired & ready a for a little wedding night fun, the last thing you will want to do is go through your entire nightly facial cleaning regimen. Just a quick wipe of these Korres cleansing wipes will clean AND moisturize your face. Yippee for convenience!
