Burlap is a dense woven fabric made from the vegetable fibers to make ropes and nets. It was later produced as a coarse fabric for protecting the underside of carpets or bags for carrying loads of small items such as coffee or potatoes across continents.
More recently, however, it is being used in a refined state known simply as ‘jute’ as an eco-friendly material for bags, rugs, and other products.
In the wedding world, burlap has become popular for decor. Here are a couple of examples of how this laborious fabric can become a dainty wedding accessory.
